Scar Heal Silicone Gel sheets are self adhesive, and have been medically proven to be 90% effective in the treatment of scars that are red, dark or raised. Medical professionals use Scar Heal and have been able to successfully treat over a million patients.

The results of using Scar Heal will be able to be seen from as early as 72 hours up to 3 months.   You will notice that the appearance and texture of the scar will have improved dramatically.

Scar Heal Silicone sheeting works by generating static electricity between the scar and the Silicone sheeting. This charge provides a stimulus to the collagen that has been overproduced.  It is this overproduction that causes the visible scar.  The stimulation causes the skin to basically wake up and realise that the scar is abnormal.

Scar Heal is specifically formulated to soften, flatten and to fade red, dark or raised scars. The scarring can be from surgery, accidents, cuts and burns and injury to any part of the body as well as the face.

Some scars are white in colour and these kinds of scars fade away over some time. Scar Heal is not suitable to use on these types of scars.

Scar Heal Silicone Gel Sheeting should only be applied to the scar area once the scar has completely closed, when all infection has healed, when scabs have fallen off and when all stitches have been removed. So basically, use Scar Heal only once the scar has been completely healed.

How to Apply Scar Heal Silicone Gel Sheeting

          Indications

• To be used only on fully closed scars with no drainage after suture removal
• Hypertrophic Scars
• Keloid Scars
• Burns, Surgical and Traumatic Scars

         How to apply the Silicone Sheeting

         Peel off the plastic protective sheeting on both sides of the silicone. Apply to a clean dry scar.

• Place the sticky side of the sheeting flat against the scar. You might need to use hypoallergenic tape to help hold the sheeting to get the correct placing.
• Apply only once the skin has healed completely and must not be used on open or weeping wounds.
• The silicone sheet must be big enough to cover the scar completely. and allowing an overlapping edge of about ¼”.
• Scar Heal sheeting should be applied to the scar area for a maximum period of 12 hours daily.
• If the silicone sheeting does not stick as good anymore, you can use hypoallergenic tape to hold it in place.

         How to keep the Scar Silicone Sheeting clean

• The sheet must be washed before use, then thereafter at least once a week with a mild soap and water.
• No talcum powder, ointments, skin moisturisers or any medication is to be used under the Silicone Sheeting.
• The Scar Esthetique Crème should be used when the Silicone Sheeting is not being worn.
• When the Silicone Sheeting is not being used, please store it in a zip-lock bag.

          How long should one use Scar Heal Silicone Sheeting?

• The Silicone sheeting should be used until the scar is pale, soft and lower in height. It can take from as little a time as 72 hours up to 3 months.

• Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting is provided non-sterile.

          For best results

• The Silicone Sheeting should be used for a maximum of 12 hours a day, and the Scar Esthetique Crème should be applied when not wearing the Silicone Sheeting.

Caution: if a sweat rash appears, discontinue use for 24 hours or until the rash has cleared. Thereafter you can reapply Scar FX Silicone sheeting following the original directions.
